Lots to Do This Halloween Weekend

Lots to do this coming weekend…Both Halloween oriented and other events:

Friday, October 28:

  • Earle Street Baptist Church Fall Festival. 6 – 8pm.  Community Wide Event.  Fun for the whole family! Free Dinner!
  • Greenville Friends of the Library Semi-Annual Used Book Sale
  • CCA (Concerned Citizens for Animals) 33rd annual Bark in the Park. 11am -3pm.  Conestee Nature Park.  Food, vendors, games, raffles and silent auctions. Dog contest with prizes.  Halloween costumes for people and dogs encouraged!  Special entertainment by former shelter dogs turned professional Frisbee performers!  All proceeds benefit at-risk animals of the Upstate.
  • Boo in the Zoo continues Oct 28-30
  • Greenville Rec’s Enchanted Tracks
    • This 6th Annual fun family event will feature favorites such as George the Train, the EnchantedForest and Magical Mythical Maze. A snack or dinner can be purchased at the Gray Friar Tavern before you visit the Enchanted Village for bounce games and face painting. A new addition to the weekend event is the Royal Backyard—a place where families can play games such as corn hole.
    • Prices: $5 in advance; $7 at the door (Children only, ages 10 and under)
    • Dates/Times: October 27-28, 6pm to 9pm; October 29, 5pm to 9pm
    • Location: Pavillion Recreation Complex, 400 Scottswood Road, Taylors

 Saturday. October 29

  • The 19th annual East Hillcrest Drive parade will begin at 9:30 am at 207 E. Hillcrest. Come join them for the parade, games, food and fun!
  • 7th Annual Boo-on-Buist Block Party. 2 – 5pm.  Intersection of Buist Ave. and Robinson.  Live DJ. Bouncy House.  Games, apple bobbing, costume contests. Costume parade at 2:30. Decorate your golf cart.  Bring snacks/drinks to share. Bring a crock to share and enter the Chili Cook-off!
  • Soda Shop Community Yard Sale. 8am – 1pm.  No cost for space.  Set up around the perimeter of back parking lot.  They are also collecting cat and dog food at the light post beside the red jeep.  You can drop off pet food even if you aren’t participating in yard sale.  What you don’t want or can’t sell will be donated to charity.
  • UJoint Halloween Dance Party. 10pm-2am. A scary-fun night of dress-up, drinks, and lots of dancing!
    Food will be cooked up til Midnight. Drinks will be flowing til 2.
  • The Children’s Museum BOOseum! 10am – 4pm.  Free to members.  Staff pumpkin contest, Pumpkin fall, story time, pumpkin dissection, Eat-a-Bug (try out a chocolate-covered insect while supplies last).  Check website for times for various activities.

Monday, October 31(Halloween):

  • The Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery will be hosting a free community event at 4 pm on Halloween! Families are invited to the Cafe for a costume parade, trick or treating on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and other fun Swamp-style kids activities. The bakery will be serving spooky specials throughout the day!
  • CEEHDA Halloween Block Party.5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. West Earle Street between Rutherford St and Robinson St.  The annual Earle Street Parade will begin at 6:30 pm… Just look for all the ghosts and goblins!
